A Ministry Digest from Daphne Crause
Psalm 84:5 says,
Blessed [is] the man whose strength [is] in you; in whose heart [are] the ways [of them].
There is one thing that I love about the Lord. It is a fact that when He created man originally in the Garden of Eden, He had one thing only in mind. It was to create someone that He could pour all His love into and that would reciprocate and love Him back.
That is all that He required of humanity. And when the Lord came down daily to fellowship with Adam and Eve, His desire was to give Adam the wisdom that he needed to be successful and victorious in this world.
How wonderful that would have been if it had continued like that. But we all know that the fall messed everything up and turned the whole world on its head. Now everything became a mess, and the success and victory that the Lord intended for us became something more difficult to accomplish.
As a believer you are an immediate target for the enemy to cause your victory to be dwarfed or stunted. He doesn’t want you to succeed, rise up and rule in this world for one simple reason. It would push him into the background and his evil plans to mess with you would fail.
Whenever you begin to rise up in victory, he will throw something at you to try and trip you up. It is like some of the computer games out there. You are running along and making progress and suddenly something comes against you to try and stop that progress. Now you have to try and sidestep it or face defeat.
For many people I think it becomes too much for them. Then they end up being lured into the trap of so-called worldly solutions, like alcohol, drugs or some other way of escaping reality. But that solution is often only temporary, and it offers no true peace and security. The Lord is the only way to get that.
That is why I shared the verse above that says, Blessed is the man whose strength is in you. The Lord understands the pressures that come upon each one of us, but He is the solution. As you rest in Him and let Him be your strength, your victory is quickly and readily available.
What is happening to you right now? Perhaps you are feeling insecure, afraid or under attack from the enemy. Maybe the pressures of this life are becoming too hard for you to handle.
The Lord does not expect you to become a superhero and solve these things in your own strength. He also doesn’t want you to be lured into the trap of the world and the flesh.
Your solution is to come into His presence the minute you start to feel those negative emotions. Run to the Lord Jesus. He is your rock and the only one who can make you feel secure and victorious in this life. But often when Satan is sending obstacles your way all the time, even that seems too hard to do.
I have experienced that sort of thing many times. But I have also experienced the power and the instant victory that you can have when you just run to the Lord. All you have to do is say, “Jesus, help me. I can’t do this!” Then address Satan and tell him to take his hands off you.
You will be amazed at how simply taking your eyes off the problems of this life and putting them on Jesus will give you the victory that you need. Submit yourself to Him, resist Satan and begin to praise Him. Speak out His promises and rest in Him. Let Him be like a loving parent who scoops their hurting child up and holds them close in their arms.
When you do this, the victory that the Lord originally intended for you will become a reality in your life. And as you keep trusting Him to be your strength, you will grow mighty in Him and destroy the works of darkness.
Many blessings.
