I am sure you have had this experience:
You are trying to do something, but it is not working. It could be anything you are doing.
Maybe you are learning to play the guitar, and you just cannot get it right. Or perhaps like me, you cannot figure out how to make a program on the computer do what you want.
You have been trying for hours and you can’t do it, so finally you take a break and let it go for a while.
But later you come back to it, and suddenly you figure it out. Suddenly it just works and everything comes together quickly.
Have you had this happen to you? I am sure you have because it is common.
Sometimes you think “I should have taken a break sooner”.
When you let things go and stop stressing over them, somehow things start to come together.
Well, we can apply this same thing to every part of life, even your spiritual life. Because the same thing can happen to you when you are reaching out in faith to the Lord.
You may have a desire from the Lord and you have reached out and prayed and nothing has happened. Maybe you even got a word or direction from the Lord telling you where to go, but it has not yet worked out.
Well, there are two sides to this. Either you are waiting for Him to do it, in which case you need to get going because the Lord is waiting for you to make it happen.
Or maybe you have got going and you are pushing hard to get it done. But no matter how hard you try you can’t bring a change in your life.
Well now maybe it is time for you to step back for a second and take a break. Take some time to let it go and trust the Lord.
We have found many times in this ministry that sometimes you need to let it go and trust the Lord. Just like my example, as you do this, your strength is renewed. And then when you try again, suddenly your faith is released and things start to happen.
When you have done all that you can do and tried your best, then it is now in the Lord’s hands. He will take what you did and He will make it work now. Because you have sowed and given your all to Him, He will take it and bring forth fruit.
The Lord says to you:
My child I have seen all that you desire and all that you give for me. I have heard your cries and I have made a way.
Therefore do not look around you at what you see in the natural, for I do not see this, I only see the plans that I have for you.
I will make a way for you and I will take what you have given and use it says the Lord.
So take time now to be with me and to relax in my presence. Even if for a short while, for that alone is an investment. As you look to me alone I will open the way for you and help you to overcome what is stopping you.
Then as your time of rest ends and you return to work, you will find a renewed strength. The things that before seemed impossible, will become nothing.
The hard work you did before will become little effort to you. You will see more results than ever before.
For you will stand in my strength with a new hope for the future says the Lord. And you will go forth and accomplish far more in a short time than you did before.
