Have you ever felt that you are not doing enough each day?
Maybe you get up in the morning and have great plans for the day, but by the end of the day, not much happens.
I don’t know about you, but this happens to me a lot. I personally have so many things I want to do, but it seems like I cannot reach them. Things get in your way, people get in the way, or suddenly you have unexpected work to do.
Recently I had this great idea that I want to make an app for this ministry. This has been a desire of mine for a long time, so I finally decided I will do it.
The problem is when I start something new like this, I want to have it done overnight. I want to make fast progress and reach my goal. But as anyone who has tried programming knows, it takes a while to get it perfect.
So I had to go through the slow tedious process of learning all the essential skills I need to do this. And each day I only learned one small thing that did not seem to make much difference.
But as the days went on, suddenly I noticed that my skill was improving, what seemed hard before became easier. It is a strange thing, but slowly you find yourself feeling confident that you can do this.
When it comes to your spiritual life sometimes we do the Lord this way.
We say “Lord I want my life to change overnight, please just do it”. Then we wait for the Lord to do it.
Maybe you actually get out and try to make it happen, but it seems to take so long. And when that happens you will be tempted to give up.
You try and do small things for the Lord, but you feel that they are not making much difference.
What is it that you want from the Lord right now?
Maybe in the natural, you want to do something, you want to become good at your job or you want to learn a new skill.
Maybe you want to do something for the Lord. You want to rise up in ministry and preach His word. But when you try, your voice just sounds squeaky.
Trust me I know this one, my first preach you could barely hear my voice. But over time I progressed and improved.
Are you struggling to overcome and reach what you desire?
Know that this is only the start, it will get better. Because the Lord wants to give you that desire right now. He sees your heart, He sees each time you cry out to Him.
And He will answer you.
But you need to be diligent and keep pushing forward. Because as you do you will find that it will increase slowly. Nothing comes overnight, there always has to be a time of pushing through and overcoming obstacles.
But when you keep going, something amazing happens. Though it seems hard at first, suddenly it gets easier. Suddenly the way starts to open for you.
My dad always says it’s like the Lord looks down and says: “Well, He/She is not going to let this go are they? We might as well give it to them”
I want to encourage you today to keep pressing forward with what you desire. Keep the picture in your mind of that goal you have. Keep trusting the Lord and keep doing what you can to reach it.
And like the scripture at the beginning, the Lord will order your steps. You will find that as you keep pressing on, the Lord will show you what steps to take.
Then you will find that suddenly the floodgates will open and you will start to see it manifesting in your life. Suddenly each step you take will become bigger and you will do more.
